GUIDANCE - HOPE SCHOLARSHIP

Hope Scholarship academic requirements are changing.  Beginning with the class of 2015, new rigor requirements are in place.  Click on the link below for HOPE Scholarship Rigor requirements.

GUIDANCE - COLLEGE PLANNING

High school students in the Noah Webster Center generally complete a college preparatory diploma.  We believe every high school student should prepare for college, whether or not they ultimately decide to go to college.  It’s about leaving options open.  It’s much better to be prepared and decide not to go, than to decide to go and not be prepared.  Our recommendations follow the course requirements for the Georgia University System, and should prepare a student to enter the college of his choice.  Our graduates receive a transcript accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission. This accreditation is recognized by the Georgia Board of Regents, which means our graduates meet the entrance requirements for any Georgia state school and can be eligible for the HOPE scholarship immediately.  Also, several of our graduates have been accepted into out-of-state colleges. Another benefit of our accreditation is the availability of dual enrollment programs. These programs allow high school students to take college classes in lieu of high school courses.  The courses provide dual credit -- fulfilling high school graduation requirements as well as credits toward a college degree.  Several of our students have dual enrolled at Kennesaw State University, Chattahoochee Technical College, and Southern Polytechnic State University.

DUAL ENROLLMENT AT KSU

For information on Dual enrollment at KSU, please visit KSU's Dual Enrollment Honors Program Admissions website.   Remember:

  • Education beyond high school increases the chances you'll earn good pay. Most college graduates earn more money during their working years than people who stop their education at high school earn.
  • More education generally translates to better chance you will always have a job.
  • Continuing education after high school is much more important for your generation than it was for your parents' generation. Most good jobs require more than a high school diploma.
